Woodland Bard School in Brighton
An In-depth meditation course on the flora, history, poems, and folklore of this sacred land.
A friendly unique group that meet every second Wednesday at the Cornerstone Community Centre, Hove. 7.30pm — 9.15pm. £7 per person inc. factsheet and herb teas.

Saturday 4th February Imbolc : Celtic Spring Festival of Imbolc. 1pm– 4pm Butser Ancient Farm
Prepare to bid farewell to the cold winter nights and gradually welcome in the spring! It is held half way between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox, and we’ll have storytelling, poetry, singing and firelight (with Jonathon Huet of Walk With Trees) to make this year’s festival one to remember.
Tickets are £12 and include a light vegetarian meal.

Learn how to carve a spoon, spatula and butter knife on this wood carving course in the Hampshire South Downs. Our tutor, Jonathan Huet will teach you how to use a knife, saw, crook knife and axe to whittle items from locally harvested green wood.

Enjoy a one day bushcraft course in the Hampshire South Downs near Petersfield. Spend a day in the woods, learning how to light a fire, build a shelter and forage for wild food. This course will not only teach you those important survival skills which help build confidence and self-reliance in living outdoors but will connect those skills to the traditions of Woodsmanship in this country.

Immerse yourself for a day in the woods learning how to survive. Each day will be packed with exciting projects to give each participant a Wilderness experience for the season. Learn to to create fire, make shelter, learn to identify, harvest, and make food in the woods according to the season. If you complete all of the Bushcraft courses throughout the year you will gain a good grounding in all aspects of living and working in the woods. Ratio of adults to children 1:2 maximum. Bushcraft Camp Sleepout Thursday 3rd August 2017 and Wednesday 9th August 10.30am to 10.30am the following morning.

​Experiencing and exploring the wild with tutor Jonathon Huet.
A real back to nature experience for child and parent. Spend a full day and night in the woods, learning to build shelters, fire lighting, outdoor cooking and woodland crafts.
Jonathan Huet has extensive experience as a woodsman, naturalist and Bush Craft Instructor, and will give children and parents the skills for any outdoor camping experience or survival situation. Suitable for those of you who wish to hone their skills or complete beginners.

Ages 8+ Children​ must be accompanied by an adult. Ratio of adults to children 1:3 maximum Bring your own small tent. All food is provided.

An Introduction to Bushcraft for Kids at Arundel Wetland Centre Sat 12 August — Sun 13 August
Time: 2–3.30 pm

Join Jonathon Huet in our secret glen in the Wildife Garden to discover how to find food in the wild and how to make delicious treats!
This workshop is for children 9 years of age and older only please as it involves fire. Children must be accompanied by an adult (admitted to observe workshop at no cost)

Tales of the British Countryside at Arundel Wetland Centre Sat 12 August — Sun 13 August Showtimes: 11:30 — noon & 1–1.30pm.

Join us this weekend for traditional tales celebrating the countryside. Each story is brought alive with poetry, rhymes, drum and infectious enthusiasm for the British countryside and its heritage. The stories are exciting for children and absorbing for adults. Learn about the fauna and flora of Britain in this most creative of ways.

This activity is outdoors but will move indoors if the weather is wet.

Samhain Festival – Friday 20 October 2017 at Butser Ancient Farm, Clanfield, Hampshire

Join us to celebrate the evening of Samhain in the magical surroundings of the Great Roundhouse at Butser Ancient Farm. Between 7-10pm you will enjoy live music, professional storytelling by Jonathon Huet of Walk with Trees, a bar with local ales and hot refreshments.
