BRINGING BACK BARDIC & CLASSICAL WOODLAND TRADITIONS
WalkwithTrees is an initiative whose aim is to encourage all ages to interact with the natural world in a creative, fun and inspiring way and to help people develop a deep respect and admiration for the countryside on their own doorsteps.
Britain is a charismatic, beautiful and unique island with bountiful plants and trees which can provide food, medicine and other natural resources to enrich its inhabitants’ lives.
Each plant and tree has a story to tell from a rich tradition which has venerated its flora and fauna.
WalkwithTrees is involved in helping to bring back the part-lost Bardic and Classical traditions by sharing the stories and poems so much a part of Britain’s natural heritage.
To reach as many people as possible we offer courses for all age groups, camping and residential, events local and national, activities at schools, nature-based storytelling as well as talks (and sometimes walks ) in many locations around Hampshire and Sussex.
Our courses teach many aspects of working with nature including wilderness skills like fire lighting, carving and survival skills; nature’s crafts making products from wild plants and trees; and general bushcraft activities. We also offer an extremely popular Family Bushcraft week, fully residential in Dorset.
We hope you enjoy exploring the site and find a course or event that will suit you.
